Prof Chris Sassetti

Dr. Sassetti received his PhD in immunology from the University of California San Francisco and performed his postdoctoral training in mycobacterial genetics at the Harvard School of Public Health.  He is currently a Professor of Microbiology and Physiological Systems as the University of Massachusetts Medical School and a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology.  Dr. Sassetti’s lab uses a combination of mammalian and bacterial genetics to understand the molecular mechanisms that underlie tuberculosis disease and to design more effective interventions.
